1st major vinyl project :)

Okay diaper cake pictures will be up tomorrow, or sometime this weekend. Almost done with it. Just a few final touches and then I will be done. its not prefect but it was my first one and I think it is pretty good for the 1st one.

Anyways I have been wanting to do some vinyl-ing for a while. All I have it black right now, but I have sme pinks, and blues, and greens, and yellows, and purples coming. Should be here this weekend I hope, if not hopefully monday. Also, my mom will be sending me my Tinkerbell and Friend cart this weekend so I should get it monday or tuesday since we are on the military base out here and get mail quick :)
Anyways, since my husband and I are HUGE disney fans (go to Disneyland like every weekend) and my first major cart I got was Mickey & Friends I finally had this picture come into my head. And I thought it would be cool. We have this plain wall that just needed something still does but eventully will have a picture I am sure) but i cute out Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Chip, and Dale out of black vinly and stuck them to the bottom of the wall. Kind of looks like they are walking in. I love it Didn't want to stick very well to the wall because of the texture but I got them on there good. Took a lot of work, but I do know they will be easy to come off when we move (because our house has to be spotless to pass inspection thanks to military housing).

Well time for me to head up to bed. Busy day tomorrow, and this weekend out with friends and getting a turtle sand box for the kids I will be watching soon. They already love coming over, and now they will never want to leave, but I think that will be a good thing for when mom has to go to work.

update

I havent been too much lately. Well cut a few things out with my cricut, but I am now helping a friend with a baby shower. She has asked me ot make a diaper cake, which will be my first one but I am really excited. Been looking at some ideas. I have what the room will look like, and colors so just have to find some ribbon and what type of diapers mom would like. Watch for pictures soon. Shower is in 2 weeks, but will be working on it next week.
Will be babysitting soon, so I will have lil less time to craft, but I will have an income to support my crafting addiction. I am excited tho. I really want to get an embossing machine soon. So that is what I am going to save up for myself, and some more cricut cartridges for when they go on sale, and of course lots of paper and embossing dies. Can't wait.

Puffy Heart necklaces

Okay so in-between baking mom's b-day cake I thought I would post another blog entry on puffy heart necklaces I make. I do sell them too. They are a million times better in person than in the pictures. I started making these geez like 4-5 years ago, and in the last year or so they have now been selling them in department stores for around $85 which I think is just a bit crazy since I was making the for about half that price. Plus I have been doing camouflage hearts (pictured) to help send care packages to troops overseas (I am a marine wife, so thats what caused me to come up with that). did really well a few months ago and sent about 10 large boxes (not the military flat rate boxes since I could get them on cargo planes here) of items they needed, snacks, games.
But I love these necklaces, I have many more but I do not have pictures of them, but I may post them later or if you are interested email me (rach.hammill@gmail.com) and I can send to you.
I would post the instructions but since we have moved I cant find where I put them, but I can do that later, but I have now been able to do it by memory since I have made probably like 50 or more of these.

Thank you for looking,
Rachel

Mickey and Friends

My husband and I are big fans of Disney, and he bought me Mickey and Friends cartridge for my cricut about 2 weeks ago and these are pretty much the first things I have cut out with my cricut. First layering projects. I am going toput them in our scrapbook when I get a chance to sit down and do some more pages (hopefully soon). We go to Disneyland a lot. BTW we are going this weekend :) so I will be making more. I am in the middle of making Minnie's house in sparkly paper.
So I am hoping to get more items posted up here that I have made. I am in the middle of making my moms b-day cake so i will have pictures of that soon. Will be in better quality too since I have finally found my camera and don't have to use my cell phone to take pictures.

So I am off to finish baking and some leaning since my parents come to visit and they get here tomorrow :)

Thanks for looking,
Rachel
